What To Expect

Before trying any aesthetic service, it’s important you understand the details of the treatment beforehand so you know exactly what to expect. Whether you’ve never had your teeth professionally whitened before or are simply curious about our unique process, this section has everything you need to know!

  • What’s your process like?

At Angie’s Beauty Parlour, we ensure our teeth whitening treatments are perfectly safe, totally pain-free and ultra-effective. Each step of our process is designed to give you a whiter smile that truly radiates all while boosting your oral health.

The first step of the treatment involves cleaning the teeth so they are prepped and ready for whitening. We then apply an enamel-safe tooth whitening gel that fights all types of stains, both new and old.

The next step involves applying the blue light from our whitening device to your teeth, to activate the gel and accelerate the whitening process. We then use a device that emits a red light, which kills bacteria and eases inflammation for healthier gums.

With this treatment, you’ll get to enjoy amazing results with a smile that's 7-12 shades whiter!

  • How long does it last?

How long the results from teeth whitening last vary from person to person based on hygiene habits, diet, enamel health and more. Most of our clients can look forward to enjoying a brighter smile for several months by diligently following the proper aftercare steps. Once you notice that the snow-white lustre begins to fade, you can come in for a quick maintenance appointment to keep your smile shining bright.

For the best results, you’ll generally want to avoid consuming highly staining foods and drinks, including red wine and coffee. You’ll also want to brush adequately morning and night and even consider using a whitening toothpaste to maintain results for as long as possible.

  • How often do I need to get my teeth whitened?

This will depend on several lifestyle factors and your own preferences. If you want a perfectly pristine smile every day of the year, then you may want to invest in regular teeth whitening sessions every 3 months. If you’re happy with more natural shades of white in between upkeep, then whitening every 6 months may work better for you.

You can even enjoy your results for years at a time with proper care. Regardless of how good your smile looks though, we still recommend you stay up-to-date with dentist and hygienist visits whenever possible. The best thing you can do for your smile is keep it healthy from the inside out.

  • Will this process damage my teeth?

No, our teeth whitening treatment will not damage your teeth in any way. Instead, our treatments are designed to boost your oral health all while brightening your smile. We use dentist-approved, enamel-safe whitening formulas and gentle red and blue light therapy to enhance whitening effects and heal distressed gums for the ultimate smile refresh.

You’ll love how our treatment doesn’t cause pain or tooth sensitivity, which means you can enjoy the things you love shortly after your visit. You’ll also be treated to in-studio professional care which is much safer than any of the kits you’d use at home. Call our beauty parlour today to learn more about this rejuvenating service.

After Care

Taking proper care of your teeth after treatment ensures that you get the most out of your pearly whites. That also means you’ll save more time and money in the long run, and who doesn’t love that? Read this section to learn more about how you can preserve that pearly smile for months to come.

  • How long do I have to wait to eat or drink something after treatment?

We recommend waiting a few hours before consuming food or beverages post-treatment. You may drink water during this time but we still recommend avoiding drinking anything for at least one hour after treatment. This is to allow the whitening formula to fully set and develop on your teeth since it usually takes as long as 24 hours to see the full effects.

Although you can resume eating normally after a few hours (for the most part), you’ll want to avoid foods and drinks that cause staining for at least 48 hours after treatment. This includes wine, coffee, chocolate, candy, soft drinks and tea.

  • How can I maintain my results?

The best way to maintain your results is to practice proper oral hygiene. This includes brushing your teeth twice a day with gentle pressure and flossing at least once a day. We also recommend brushing with whitening toothpaste to keep results looking fresh for longer.

The next best thing you can do is avoid staining foods. This may be hard if you’re a coffee enthusiast or love a glass of red wine with dinner, however, the fact remains— the less you consume the longer your results will last.

Make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day as well. This doesn’t only help preserve your results but also helps keep oral tissues healthy and strong.

  • Is it normal for my teeth to be sensitive after treatment?

This is normal and even expected with many teeth-whitening treatments, however, our formula is designed to be pain-free. If you have generally sensitive teeth then you may experience some sensitivity despite our best efforts to provide a sensitivity-free product.

In this case, try to avoid consuming food and drinks that are too hot and too cold and make sure to brush your teeth with a fluoride-based toothpaste. You may also want to contact your dentist if tooth sensitivity is an ongoing problem in your daily life.

If you notice any unusual pain or symptoms following an in-studio treatment with us then please contact our team right away so we can discuss the best next steps.
