Eyebrow Tattoo

Looking to semi-permanently or permanently colour and thicken your brows? Search no further, for Angie's Beauty Parlour has just what you need with our eyebrow tattooing services.

Tiny tattoos are micro tattoos in 3-4 inches in size used with black ink. Previously known as stick and poke but with an actual tattoo gun. Pre-made designs can be used, especially as best friend matching tattoos.

There are three types of eyebrow tattoos: microblading, microshading, and ombre brows. Microblading is temporary a form of eyebrow makeup that last 1-2 years, whereas microshading and ombre brows can last 3-5 years.

At Angie's, we offer the best eyebrow tattooing services to our clients. We are more than happy to help you achieve your brow goals. Book your consultation today!

Microblading

This Q & A section below contains information on everything there is to know about microblading, including what it is, how it works, the cost of the procedure, aftercare and healing, results and more. This will help you determine whether or not this procedure is right for you.

  • What is microblading?

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent eyebrow makeup.

Instead of using a traditional tattoo gun, microblading requires the use of a small tool with tiny needles. These needles are used to manually draw delicate hair strokes while also depositing pigment under the skin. The result? Realistic, natural-looking brows that don't wash off.

This may be beneficial to individuals who have thinner eyebrows and are wanting to improve the colour, shape and thickness of their brows while still keeping a natural look. If you think this might be the right treatment for you, keep on reading for more information.

  • Is microblading a tattoo?

Yes and no. Tattoos last forever, and microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing because the hairline strokes aren't deeply ingrained into the skin (compared to the hairline strokes on a tattoo gun). The pigment used in microblading is different than what you would get in a regular tattoo because your body eventually ends up metabolizing it and it begins to fade away. Also, the dye particles are less concentrated in microblading ink, giving your brows a softer, more natural look.

  • How long does microblading last?

Depending on your skin type, microblading will last you anywhere from 1 to 3 years (oilier skin types tend to fade the fastest). However, we recommend that clients book a six-week follow-up appointment for a touch-up and check-in to make sure they're happy with their end results. By the way, these appointments cost less than the initial microblading.

After the four-week touch-up, you won't need another appointment for at least 12 months. Your brows will eventually start to fade after a couple of years when new cell growth comes in- which is when you can come in and get them re-done.

  • How much does microblading cost?

A microblading treatment at Angie's Beauty parlour can cost up to $600, which includes the cost of the initial treatment and the four-week touch-up appointment. The initial treatment is usually over 3 hours long and a touch-up appointment is 2-2.5 hours long.

The money spent on microblading pays for the technician's time and the supplies required to do the treatment. These treatments can be costly because brow products are expensive. However, if you have thin brows and you're looking to improve the appearance and willing to spend the time and money, it is very much worth it.

  • Aftercare

If you decide to go ahead with microblading, it's important that you know how to properly care for your brows in order to prevent infection.

    1. Do not pick or scratch any scabs that may develop on your eyebrows.
    2. Avoid getting your skin wet for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
    3. Avoid applying any makeup or skincare on your face until your brows are healed.
    4. Avoid activity that could cause excessive sweat, moisture, or dirt for 10 days.
    5. Do not use any cleansers containing acids or exfoliants.
    6. Avoid taking long, hot showers for 10 days.
    7. No facials or peels for 4 weeks.

Microshading

Another service we offer to our clients is microshading. If microblading doesn't seem to interest you, then microshading might be a better option. This section has all of the information you need to know about the treatment. If you're looking for a gentle, less painful treatment, keep on reading.

  • What is microshading?

    Meet microblading's softer, gentler sister.

Unlike microblading, microshading does not tattoo full strokes along the browline, but rather small points to shade in sparse areas. Instead of creating the illusion of individual hairs, microshading fills in the entire brow with light pigmentation through the use of a fine tipped needle. The results will not appear to be individual eyebrow hairs, but rather a shading that resembles penciling or powdering your brows with makeup. Brows will appear extra bold following the treatment, but they tend to soften out two weeks later.

Results last 1-3 years depending on your skin type.

  • How long does microshading last?

Microshading lasts the same amount of time as microblading, about 1 to 3 years with proper care and maintenance. You'll need to book a follow-up appointment one month after the treatment, but then you won't need another one for at least a year.

If you have an oily skin type, we recommend getting a touch-up every 8 months, but your eyebrows will fade faster on skin that becomes easily greasy. For pro-longed results, stay out of the sun and avoid using harsh chemicals on the skin like AHAs and BHAs.

  • How much does microshading cost?

Microshading treatments are pricey and can cost up to $700, which includes the cost of the initial treatment and the follow-up appointment.

Microshading is a little more expensive than microblading, but it's important that you choose a treatment that best suits your personal needs. If you prefer a shaded in makeup look rather than the look of natural hair growth, then this might just be the right treatment for you.

Note: Most of the treatments at Angie's Beauty Salon are not covered by insurance.

  • Is microshading painful?

Microshading is not a highly painful treatment. In fact, some people find it a lot less painful than microblading due to the pointed dotting technique versus the longer strokes. Microshading treatments are also shorter than microblading treatments, as they only take 1 to 2 hours to complete.

You might feel a slight pressure when the technician is applying the ink, which is normal. You might notice a bit of redness, swelling and soreness in your eyebrows right after microshading, which again, is normal. You'll see your results roughly one-month post-treatment as your skin does need time to heal.

  • Aftercare

Aftercare for microshading is the same as aftercare for microblading. Do not pick or scratch at any scabs. Avoid getting your skin wet for 24 hours. Don't use facials or chemical peels. Avoid intense activity that could cause excessive sweat, moisture or dirt. You'll also want to care for your brows with an anti-bacterial ointment right after you get them done in the first 24 hours. Keep them as clean as you possibly can. Essentially, you should treat your eyebrows the same way you would treat a regular tattoo.

Ombre Brows

What are Ombre brows? How do they differ from our other available treatments? Check out this section below to learn more general information about the Ombre brows, how much they cost, results, aftercare, and more.

  • What are Ombre brows?

Ombre brows have become a huge trend in semi-permanent makeup for eyebrows. Just like basic powdered brows, it's a procedure that gives you the look of filled-in, shaded brows, but with a special ombre effect.

Ombre brows last 2-3 times longer than microblading and microshading, which is why they have become so popular for women over the last few years. Ombre brows are more in line with traditional tattooing because instead of creating fine lines of hair (like the technique used in microblading), it uses small dots of pigment to create the look of thick, full, dramatic brows.

  • How long do Ombre brows last?

Ombre brows can last up to 5 years if they are cared for properly. The retention depends on a number of factors including skin type, lifestyle, health condition, sun exposure, etc.

If you've tried microblading in the past and were unimpressed with the results, then Ombre brows might be the appropriate treatment for you. It's much more convenient for indivduals who want to look good but don't like spending a lot of time and money on makeup products. It also doesn't require as much maintenance and follow-up appointments as other treatments. Choose Ombre brows if you want long-lasting results.

  • How much do Ombre brows cost?

An Ombre brow treatment at Angie's Beauty Parlour costs a minimum of $500 and usually takes over 3 hours to complete. Ombre brows require less follow-up appointments than other treatments due to the different styling technique that is used and the long-lasting results that come with it. So in regards to pricing and affordability, it really is the best value for your money. If you take good enough care of your eyebrows, you won't need more than one touch-up appointment. Aftercare for Ombre brows is very similar to aftercare for microblading. You can find more information about it below.

  • Is this procedure painful?

The pain level of eyebrow tattooing varies from person to person. The technician will apply a topical anesthetic on your eyebrows and let it sit for 20 to 40 minutes before shading. It might feel uncomfortable at first, but the anesthetic will help you feel relaxed and at-ease so that you don't feel much pain when the needle touches the skin.

After the procedure, your eyebrows will look darker, and you might even feel some tenderness, but this is fine and normal. Just be careful not to touch them too much.

  • Aftercare

Aftercare tips for eyebrow tattoos include:

    1. Do not pick, scratch or itch at any scabs that may appear on your eyebrows
    2. Avoid getting the eyebrows wet for 10 days, even in the shower
    3. Avoid intense activities that cause excessive sweating, moisture or dirt for 10 days
    4. Avoid using any makeup and skincare products until your eyebrows are fully healed
    5. Use an antibacterial ointment after the first 24 hours of receiving the treatment
    6. Do not use facial masks or peels for 4 weeks
    7. Do not use any cleansers containing acids or exfoliants

Lip Blush Tattoo

Once you've gotten your eyebrows done and are happy with them, you might want to check out our other tattooing service like lip blushing.

Lip blushing tattoos are another form of semi-permanent makeup. It's a treatment that is used to improve the tone, colour and fullness of your lips. Lip blushing is a great alternative to lip fillers because it provides a more natural, long-lasting look.  If you have small, thin lips, then you might be a good candidate for a lip blush tattoo. Find more about it under the ‘Services’ tab in the navigation bar at the top of our page.
